ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

1Guidelines for Abstract Submission to the International Nursing Research Conference:

Only abstracts of research studies with results can be submitted. These results must have been obtained and analyzed by the deadline for abstract submission. Exceptionally, the Scientific Committee considers the option that papers submitted to the Undergraduate Student’s Corner and the Postgraduate Student’s Corner (EIR or Master’s) may not have a section on results and discussion.

The presentation modalities are the following ones:

  1. Oral presentation.
  2. Oral brief presentation.
  3. Virtual (Oral).
  4. Poster.
  5. Student’s corner – Undergraduate and Postgraduate (Poster).

In the Student’s Corner modality, all authors must be students on the closing date for the submission of student papers. This status must be proven.

*NOTE: For the International Doctoral Students Workshop, see the regulations applicable to this day in the corresponding document.

Structure of the abstract:

For abstract with results, it should be structured as follows:

  1. Objetive/s.
  2. Methods.
  3. Results.
  4. Discussion, which should include what the implications are for practice.

For systematic reviews, the abstract’s content should be structured as follows:

  1. Review Question / Objectives.
  2. Inclusion and exclusion criteria for studies.
  3. Search plan and strategy.
  4. Methods for selecting studies and quality assessment of selected studies.
  5. Methods for extracting and synthesising data from the review.
  6. Results.
  7. Discussion.

As abstract evaluation is done anonymously, personal details of the author(s) must not appear in the text. Otherwise, the submission will automatically be excluded from prize consideration.

The abstract text must not exceed 3300 characters (spaces included), tables and graphs are not allowed. The maximum length for the title is 120 characters (spaces included).

All accepted abstracts are eligible for the prize in the category in which they have been accepted, except those whose author had explicitly opted out.

Speakers of oral communications:

The first author in the abstract submission is assumed to be the speaker, unless specified otherwise. Speaker changes must be signed by the outgoing speaker and accepted by the Scientific Committee. A change of speaker will not be allowed when the proposed person exceeds the maximum of three papers that can be presented, according to the limit established by the Scientific Committee.

To ensure that an accepted paper can be presented, the designated speaker must complete the registration process and pay the registration fee by the established deadline. Papers that do not meet this requirement will be removed from the program and will not be included in the final version of the Book of Abstracts.

Limitation on the number of papers per participant:

In order to guarantee equitable participation and facilitate the scientific organization of the event, the Scientific Committee reserves the right to limit the number of communications in which the same individual appears as an author. The maximum is six communications in total, of which no more than three may be presented by the same person. This measure aims to ensure diverse participation and allow for an appropriate distribution of time during the sessions.

2Considerations to be taken into account for the International Nursing Research Conference:

When submitting your abstract, it is important to consider the following Publication and Originality Policies:

  • Abstracts on care research  indexed in any of the national or international databases, or are published in open access, will not be accepted for evaluation.
  • The Scientific Committee is committed to promoting originality and integrity in research. The Scientific Committee reserves the right to reject abstracts that considers plagiarism or redundant publication, because they have been presented in previous meetings or in other scientific dissemination events. Given the exclusive nature of this event, priority will be given to the dissemination of original, unpublished work. Therefore, authors must explicitly indicate if the work has been previously presented or published, whether at conferences, in journals, or in other scientific forums. Should a previously published abstract be accepted for this conference, the authors will be notified that, to avoid redundant publications, it cannot be included in the proceedings book with ISBN.
  • Please note that after the deadline for abstract submission NO changes will be accepted regarding authorship and content and that the certificate will list the authors in the same order and format as the abstract submitted.
  • All papers whosespeaker has not registered (including payment) by 15th October (20:00 GMT) will be withdrawn from the programme.
  • For the purposes of this scientific event, the Scientific Committee considers that literature reviews are a preliminary and necessary step in the process of a research work, but do not in themselves constitute research projects with results and implications for clinical practice, and therefore are not accepted for presentation.
